FULL YACHT CHARTER REVIEW

Inspected by Us.

A modern yacht with an innovative approach to luxury, LOON yacht charter has been captivating the imagination of her charter guests since 2011. She managed to build a loyal fan base among yacht enthusiasts, because of her ability to deliver bespoke experiences, centred around lounging and leisure in the beautiful Croatian Adriatic sea.

Constructed by the Newcastle shipyard, LOON is the ideal personification of a holiday, offering unlimited freedom mixed with luxurious accommodations, comfort, excellent cuisine and 5-star hospitality

This is partly the result of her frequent and detailed refits, the last of which was done in the end of 2019. With a length of 54 meters, she is able to house every imaginable facility and amenity, guaranteeing an unforgettable yacht holiday in Croatia.

These include a fully-equipped gym, a sundeck jacuzzi, an elevator covering all decks of the yacht (making her wheelchair accessible), as well as an RYA-approved diving and water sports centre.

LOON yacht charter can house 12 guests, allocated in one of 6 cabins, consisting of 4 double and 2 triple cabins, which include 2 master suites – one on the main deck and one on the upper deck.

The number of the crew should not surprise on a yacht of this size – altogether 13 members of the crew will take excellent care of all their needs, regardless of their age or preferences. If you are on a family holiday, your kids will simply adore the water toys under the supervision of the crew, while your better half might care for a massage from a professional massage therapist.

Cruising with LOON yacht charter will be a very stable and solid experience, thanks to her Zero-speed and at-anchor stabilisers. With a cruising speed of 12 knots, she is more than capable of delivering a well-rounded charter itinerary with her ability to cover large distances, while guests are soundly asleep.

A DAY ON THE YACHT

After a week spent cruising in the Šibenik archipelago and experiencing many beautiful islands, you will be a richer and more complete person than you were before stepping on LOON yacht charter and starting your Croatian yachting adventure.

By picking Šibenik as your starting position, you can discover natural wonders and untouched treasures on both sea and land, because Šibenik`s natural position lies between two of the most beautiful National Parks in Croatia – Krka and Kornati. Also, the beauty of Šibenik`s medieval architecture can rival that of Dubrovnik, Zadar and Split, all reachable fairly easy from Šibenik.

Arriving in Šibenik on your first day of charter, you will be able to tour this marvellous coastal settlement and enjoy the authentic atmosphere of stone-paved streets and the main seaside promenade, littered with palm trees, medieval architecture and berthed yachts.

If you want, SuperYachts Croatia can organise a private tour guide so you could enjoy all the secrets of Šibenik in an intimate setting, boarding LOON yacht charter just several feet from the old core of the city.

Before heading out, you might want to enjoy lunch in Pelegrini, Šibenik`s Michelin restaurant, where traditional recipes meet fresh ingredients and innovative culinary practices.

For your first day, you may want to cruise to Zlarin island, an island southwest off the entrance to the Šibenik canal. This island offers an escape from the busy streets of Šibenik and offers respite from the summer heat, shielding guests and travellers with shade provided by pine tree forests.

Or visit Krka National park, passing the Šibenik canal and cruising up the river Krka, until reaching Skradin and the enchanting Skradinski Buk waterfall, the crowning gem of the Krka National Park.

As the first few day pass, LOON yacht charter will carry you and your charter party towards many more islands and coastal settlements, like Primošten. This coastal port town is located some 10-15 nautical miles south of Šibenik, and to reach it, LOON just has to follow the coastline until hitting a medieval city built on a small island and connected to the mainland via an embankment of stone and earth.

Primošten is known for its magical atmosphere, which can be experienced if you take a walk through the historic stone streets, while also having an option of experiencing the modern part of town and numerous events, that take place on summer stages throughout the main seaside promenade. If Primošten captured your imagination, you may want to spend the night at anchor; if not, continue your journey westbound, heading for the island of Žirje.

The island of Žirje offers good fishing spots and incredible swimming locations, thanks to the clarity of the sea around its shoreline. Also, Žirje island is the perfect stepping stone for visiting the most cherished of all Croatian maritime treasures – Kornati National Park.

Known as the “divine teardrops of incredible beauty” Kornati island offer a unique insight into the vast potential of the Croatian Adriatic sea and its jaw-dropping allure. Captivating at all sensory levels, Kornati National Park will signify the climax of your yacht holiday in Croatia. Swim, dive and snorkel in such clarity and cleanliness, you will not know where the sea ends and the sky begins.

Experience this and much more around Kornati, all the while tasting incredible food, inspired by the wealth of the sea around this exquisite National Park. As time passed and your stay in Croatia creeps ever closer, for your last day with LOON yacht charter, there is no better choice than the island of Kaprije, which will enable you to finish your yachting holiday with a bang.

Kaprije is an island located in the centre of the Šibenik archipelago, an excellent last stop for a yachting tour of the Croatian Adriatic sea. Recognized among the yachting community as a paradise for boaters, Kaprije got its name for being a fruitful breeding ground for the caper bush, which grew in abundance all around the island in the past.

Kaprije offers the perfect means of saying goodbye to Croatia in style, and it might even entice you to book a charter for next year, with Kaprije being the starting position for new adventures.

Nevertheless, enjoy the atmosphere of an island that will offer an abundance of serenity and tranquillity in its many peaceful bays and quiet coves. Since there are no cars on Kaprije, the tempo of life will seem to slow down completely, harmonizing itself with the time of the day and the speed of the summer breezes.

Once you arrive, enjoy lunch in an atmosphere of complete peacefulness, as you dine on exquisite dishes such as rustic bread with chive compound butter and a greek pasta salad, followed by a choice between a lemon-braised free-range chicken breast or rilled Adriatic tuna with roasted cauliflower, finishing off with a lovely hand-made watermelon and strawberry granita.

The nautical oasis of Kaprije island offers numerous safe and attractive anchorages, like the Kaprije harbour, located on the northwestern part of the island. There are also many other equally interesting coves, like Remetić and Medoš cove, on the northwest shores of Kaprije and the Nozdra coves, on the south side of the island.

For a short trip inland, you may want to visit Kaprije village, situated on a small hill. For charter guests in search of a more active version of a day trip, the highest peak (129m) is Gigina Glavica, some 40 minutes from Kaprije village. If you decide to make the climb, you will be rewarded with an incredible panorama of the greater Šibenik archipelago, as well as the hinterlands and slopes of mt. Dinara.

Since LOON yacht charter offers RYA-certified diving equipment, as well as crew experienced as divers, there will be plenty of opportunity to experience the seabed around Kaprije, since it is widely recognized as a heaven for divers.

Not to be missed opportunity for divers is the shipwreck of the Italian warship Francesca de Rimini from 1944, located at a depth of around 35-45 meters, located on the north side of the island. Although this may seem like an intermediate dive, snorkelers and swimmers will still get to enjoy all the other riches of the Kaprije seafloor, starting from plenty of different schools of fish, but also starfish, crabs, sea urchins, and a plethora of different aquatic flora, including coral.

Finally, enjoy the final dinner on LOON yacht charter in style, summing up your Croatian yachting experience in every bite of fresh seafood, excellent local wines and traditional desserts, elevated to a Michelin level by your professional chef. Enjoy dishes like beef carpaccio served with arugula, truffle & parmesan or grilled lobster tails served over fresh pineapple and butter pasta. For dessert, you can look forward to something along the lines of brandy alexander with yoghurt mousse.

After supper, let your crew open bottle after champagne bottle and as you conclude your holiday experience in Croatia.

YACHT CHARTER DINING

Dining aboard LOON yacht charter will exceed the expectations of all guests, even those used to Michelin-level cuisine. This is because the onboard chef handles all provisions through SuperYachts Croatia, which makes sure that all the food brought onboard is fresh, locally sourced and environmentally friendly.

Enjoy dishes like blue crab roulade with a mango dressing, herb-crusted salmon served with mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach & butternut squash puré or a tasty filet mignon, with sweet potatoes, in a béarnaise sauce. For dessert,  wrap your lips around a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream

A Michelin-level meal begins with a good connection with the local fisherman, who always prepares a batch of the freshest catches (tuna, bass, but also shellfish like scampi or lobster) and set it aside, knowing that it is going to be picked up by your chef.

By implication, every dining experience starts with the ingredients, and for guests who would like to taste traditional Croatian meat recipes, lamb from Pag island or free-ranged veal, chicken and pork will also be provided, always having the best culinary interest of the guests in mind.

Seasoning and accompanying elements are also important, and that is why every herb and spice used onboard will be freshly procured from farmers’ markets in all the major Croatian ports; including homemade Croatian vinegar and globally-acclaimed olive oil.

Finally, Croatian wine is proud to sit at the very top of the global wine rank list. If you look at the typical climate and the excellent meteorological and geographical conditions, it is no wonder that Croatia produces some of the best red and white wines in the Mediterranean, and beyond.

If you put all these pieces together, you get a totally authentic taste of Croatia, enhanced by the quality of different ingredients and the expertise of your yacht chef, which will allow you to taste dishes like grilled caesar salad with housemade sourdough croutons, prime New York strip served with sweet potatoes, asparagus, port wine & peppercorn glaze.

Guests who like fish will enjoy a pan-seared sea bass served with charred brussels sprouts, butternut squash, caramelized cauliflower, carrot ginger purée & herbs. And for dessert, a classic traditional Croatian apple pie.

YACHT MAIN DECK

No wild lines or extravagant curves – the simple yet appealing exterior architecture done by Murray and Associates communicates a subtle approach to luxury on yachts. Nevertheless, LOON yacht charter remains an impressive sight on the water, especially underway. A single glimpse of this yacht`s mighty hull piercing waves with ease invokes a strong sense of safety and stability, ensuring that nothing will go wrong with your charter vacation.

When boarding LOON yacht charter, it is best to begin a comprehensive tour of the vehicle yacht from her main deck aft and the simply enormous exterior lounge setup, on her main deck stern.

Shielded from the sun thanks to the upper deck hardtop, this outdoor arrangement offers an oasis of comfort on wide and inviting sofas and armchairs, some of which are smartly integrated with cabinetry containing beverage coolers, ice makers and quick snack options.

This area is perfect for guests who like nothing more than to lazy around in a relaxed Adriatic atmosphere, being gently brushed by the soft sea breeze, coming from the open water.

There are two sets of staircases; the pair on the aft leads to the swimming platform, while the forward one connects the main deck with the upper deck exterior and the lower deck. Since this is only a taste of LOON`s potential, step through the glass sliding door and into the interior salon, to experience the rest of this fantastic yacht. Prepare to experience a comfortable atmosphere and hospitality that will put to shame every luxury resort on land.

Yacht charter accommodation: main salon & dining area

Stepping into the interior, guests are greeted by the oval foyer, containing dark wood cabinetry on both port and starboard sides, as well as polished wood flooring, with intricate geographical ornaments. Once out of the foyer, clients might rest in the comfortable lounge area or continue onward to the interior dining section of the main deck.

Guests might notice some distinct features of neo-classical and neo-historic styles mixed with traces of chic colonial influences, noticeable in colour choices and some subtle details, particularly in the guest`s accommodations and social spaces, like the main deck salon.

Throughout the foyer and the interior lounge and dining sections of the main deck salon, there are circular and ornamentalised artificial lighting systems that are marvellously complemented by the masses of natural light that flow through freely the sizable salon windows.

The design of the main deck interior can be interpreted as a meeting point between style and traditional taste, which is not to say that LOON yacht charter lacks in the technological department.

Overall, the very comfy and homey salon will entice charter guests to spend some of their free time, surrounded by lavish comfort and an attentive crew, who will gladly fix drinks, provide snacks and set up and movie or show your charter party would prefer.

The formal dining area welcomes all charter guests wholeheartedly with lavish details, plush fabrics on the chairs and a rich colour atmosphere overall. Continuing onward from the dining area through the starboard side hallway, guests will arrive at the forward foyer, which connects all the decks of LOON yacht charter with staircases and an elevator, making this yacht truly a choice for guests of different backgrounds.

A practical day head is located starboard, just before the entrance to the main deck master suite.

Yacht charter accommodation: main deck master suite

The main deck master suite onboard LOON yacht charter is the epitome of luxury and a perfect representation of what it means to be surrounded by comfort and style. Guests walking into the master will feel the luxurious touch of wool silk carpeting under their feet, as they feel the texturized fabrics and fine leather under their fingertips.

For lighting, incredible views through eight large oval windows will be a constant, as well as subtly integrated artificial lighting, in form of chic lamps and hidden LED lights. The centrally-placed berth is surrounded by dark brown wood cabinetry and beige upholstery, both of which have subtly dimmed colours, so as to accentuate natural light as much as possible.

All the design and decorations in the main deck master are tasteful and artistic, adding to the overall feeling of ever-present opulence. The master also provides an enjoyable surrounding to relax and write some of your holiday impressions, sitting down at the wide work table.

YACHT UPPER DECK

The upper deck aft offers a secondary option for exterior lounging, as well as an exterior dining option. Starting from the upper deck stern, guests can sit and relax on a convolute bench, that spans the entire length of the stern, and is placed right next to the main alfresco dining option aboard LOON yacht charter.

While the crew sets up the nearby dining table, enjoy premium champagne as you lean against the polished steel handrails and stare off into the wonderous distance. There is always a sense of magic and mystery when gazing towards the horizon from a deck of a yacht, because the unlimited freedom that a vessel like LOON yacht charter represents, is capable of transporting you anywhere you wish. You can daydream about conquering the horizon, but at some point, you will want to sit down and enjoy an alfresco dining experience.

Dine in opulence, with every taste and scent representing a new sensory explosion, which gives a feeling of satisfaction and worth. The circular dining table can accommodate all the guests aboard, leaving plenty of leg room and walk-around room.

This is due to a wide and open deck space, partly because there are no circular side decks on LOON yacht charter, which enabled her naval engineers to leave more room for width in the guest areas, without sacrificing much in terms of traffic flow through her decks.

The width of the upper deck aft also allows for an unusual shape of the comfortable sofas, that follow the length of the stern, but abruptly blow out of proportion and grow in size, towards their oval corners.

There are also several smaller tables, scattered parallel to the stern sofa setup, allowing for drinks and snacks to always be at arm`s length. The upper deck of LOON yacht charter also has an exquisite interior lounge, which can be accessed via the glass sliding door, just like on the main deck.

Yacht charter accommodation: sky lounge

Upon entering the sky lounge, guests might notice that the armchair and sofa setup resemble cinema sofa rows, and they would be right. This entire area is envisioned to provide charter guests with a place where they can enjoy each other`s company, as well as watch their favourite movie or series. Rich white leather lines the sofas, while the armchairs provide massaging capabilities

A dozen windows light up the sky lounge, from dusk `till dawn, when they provide a fantastic view of a majestic Croatian sunset. When it comes to the design and the aesthetic impression of the sky lounge, rich dark wood cabinetry and woodworking details can rival any woodworking piece of art;  the sky lounge on LOON yacht charter can surely be considered a piece of practical art.

The ornamentalised carpets complement the choices of fabrics and colours in the sky lounge, especially when it comes to comparing the floors with the furniture upholstery. For guests looking to sample premium whiskeys and cognacs, the bar to port will be the ideal place to start; afterwards, sitting down at the games table to starboard and playing a round of chess or poker will give a perfect introduction to the evenings’ entertainment aboard LOON yacht charter.

The bar at the upper deck sky lounge is regularly the favourite place for charter guests to sit and enjoy a drink. After-parties are also best thrown in the sky lounge, where you can chat with your friends and family and drink champagne until the early hours of the morning.

From the upper deck interior, guests can use the starboard hallway to reach the upper deck master suite. Along the way, they pass near the interior staircase, which connects all the deck aboard LOON, as well as a compact and practical day head, allowing guests access to basic hygiene, without the need of going to their cabins.

Yacht charter accommodation: upper deck master suite

The absolutely stunning upper deck master suite aboard LOON yacht charter offers a 270-degree view, thanks to circularly-placed windows, that line out the bow-facing wall of this suite.

The décor of this suite also uses plenty of dark wood cabinetry, alongside earthy colour choices, which bring out the natural glossiness of the wood, as well as the protruding blue overtones of the shimmering sea.

The king-size berth has 2 nightstands, one on either side of the berth, allowing guests to spend prolonged periods of time in this suite, enjoying the view in absolute privacy and luxury.

Because this accommodation is also equipped with a wide table, it is also possible to ask your charter crew to deliver breakfast, if you are inclined to enjoy the most important meal of the day with your loved one, staring at the beautiful 270 ° panorama. The accompanying ensuite is lavish and spacious, providing nearly a full wellness experience, right in the comfort of the master suite.

YACHT SUNDECK

An absolute treat for sun lovers, the sundeck aboard LOON yacht charter will entice interests and capture the imaginations of guests in search of that perfect ratio between nature and man-made comfort.

The stern of the sundeck is lined with movable sunloungers, providing an ideal opportunity to acquire a perfect bronze tan. Placed amidship is the crown jewel of the sundeck, a wide and long jacuzzi with an incredible view towards the stern.

This location is regularly the favourite for charter guests, for the simple reason that it unifies all of the major factors that make up a typical luxury yacht experience.

Soak in the warm, bubbly water of the jacuzzi and enjoy the incredible panorama of the Croatian Adriatic sea. As your charter party joins you in the jacuzzi, the sun begins to set, creating a cascading effect of infinite colours, overlapping and washing over one another, until all that is left is a literal doorway to heaven, so beautifl you could weep and so close you could nearly touch it.

And as guests remain breathless, the hard-working members of the charter crew take that as a cue to serve drinks and snacks, further elevating the entire experience into the domain of a once-in-a-lifetime event, that will never be forgotten.

To this purpose, a bar with barstools will provide the ideal means for the charter crew to serve guests, either with chilled drinks, preparing hand-made cocktails or stacking snacks.
A very practical day head is located to starboard, which is perfect for guests who are looking to extend their time on the sundeck indefinitely, by eliminating the need of going to their cabins to conduct basic hygiene.

Finally, an elevated sunbathing area can be found on the sundeck bow, with sun mattresses that cover the entire bow portion of the sundeck, creating one huge sunbed, a surface that would easily fit 3 queen size berths.  Also, integrated into the elevated sunbathing setup is a circular sofa with a small coffee table, so all the guests can stay in visible contact, regardless of their position on the sundeck

YACHT LOWER DECK

When it comes to guest accommodations located on the lower deck of LOON yacht charter, clients will note that all cabins contain flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, strong Wi-Fi and remote control blinds and lighting.

The lower deck is made of 2 double cabins, one of which is a portside placed VIP cabin, while the starboard side is a regular double cabin, as well as 2 triple cabins, which are mirror images of one another.

Yacht charter accommodation: VIP cabin

A queen-sized berth is placed right beneath oval windows, providing spectacular views of the Croatian Adriatic sea; alternatively, you can close the blinds and create a pitch-black atmosphere, for the best quality sleep on the water you will ever experience.

Dark-brown glossy framework is used throughout the VIP, giving this accommodation the ability to make guests feel like royalty. The numerous cabinetry, storage spaces and wall panels are all also done in the same dark brown ornaments.

A work desk with a chair enables guests to answer urgent emails, write last-second memos or hold business Zoom calls, without leaving the comfortable confines of the VIP cabin.
The rich woollen carpet provides a silky-smooth surface for bare-footed guests, who will definitely enjoy the sensation of “walking on clouds”.

A major difference between the VIP and double cabins is that the VIP has a much larger ensuite, which contains two separate sinks, as well as a spacious shower cabin and luxurious décor.

Yacht charter accommodation: double cabin

The double cabin sticks to the same aesthetic principles present in the VIP cabin: lots of dark brown wooden surfaces, smart artistic details and plenty of natural light, thanks to wide windows.

Also, the layout stays much the same i.e. a queen-sized berth, with two nightstands and an ornamentalised headspace. Guests will adore the rich upholstery on the furniture and the subtle way that the outside sea complements the interior decor, due to the smart choice of colours.

The ensuite in the double cabin is well-appointed, with everything needed for a prolonged stay on open water, like a spacious and luxurious shower cabin, a wide sink and a head.

Yacht charter accommodation: triple cabin

When it comes to a general layout of the cabin, the two triple cabins are mirror images of one another, except when it comes to superficial aesthetic details. The similarities start with dark brown wood cabinetry (which is used in every interior space on LOON) but also using tasteful artworks.

These elements represent typical hallmarks of neocolonialism, accentuated by ample of natural light, coming in through wide oval windows.

The wooden frames and ornamentalisation are in line with the general design direction of LOON yacht charter. The triple cabin is perfect for families with childer, because it allows them to all share a single cabin, but also allows the parents a berth of their own.

BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM

When it comes to her beach club and swimming platform, LOON yacht charter has a few surprises in store for her guests.

The inflatable in-water swimming pool and the inflatable swimming platform extension effectively create a sub-deck, one at the very edge of the water and perfect for creating unique memories. Let the rhythm of the waves set the tempo of your waterside enjoyment as you take full advantage of the inflatable pontoons and docks for the jet skis, which create a multi-dimensional approach to having fun on the water

The beach club is spacious and can be set up to accommodate a variety of different purposes, like your charter crew moving the gym equipment from the designated lower deck gym area and setting up in the beach club, so you can enjoy a truly unique atmosphere while you work out. Being so close to the sea, the sea becomes a crucial part of your workout routine, with potential regular swims or just cooling off and then getting back onto your favourite piece of equipment.

The beach club can be also transformed into your personal lounge bar, with comfortable sitting right next to the surface of the sea.

YACHT WATER TOYS & WATER SPORTS

Of all the yachts in SuperYachts Croatia`s catalogue, LOON yacht charter has, by far, the most water toys on demand than any other yacht, period. More than 25 different ways to have fun on the water, and that is without combining some of the toys to form a multi-platform experience, which can be especially potent for younger charter guests who enjoy challenges and obstacle courses.

Her avid water toy list starts with her a total of 3 tenders, which will be able to provide different guests with different options, effectively eliminating waiting in line or waiting for your turn on different towable toys.

The tenders will have the potential to tow one of several waterski sets (both for adults and for children), as well as a wakeboard and an entire collection of inflatable donuts and other towable toys, including a banana and a hot dog.

Tenders might be only part of the solution for guests looking to quench their thirst for exhilarating and exciting rides; 2 Yamaha jet skis can also provide a fast and safe ride on the waves, and since LOON yacht charter is a certified RYA-center, you will have capable and experienced crew members ready to offer assistance and advice to first-time riders.

A pair of Sea bobs will entice guests to get properly introduced to all the wonders of the Croatian Adriatic seabed – once you gain the ability to move and dive like an aquatic animal, you will be bedazzled by the variety of plant and animal life found on the Croatian seafloor.

The unavoidable standup paddleboards and inflatable kayaks will provide guests in need of an active approach to being on the sea with an opportunity to paddle as fast or slow as they like, working off their core and arms or laying completely still on the toy, and letting the waves do all the work. Also, these types of toys are perfect for exploring all the alcoves of the very indented Croatian coastline.

When it comes to new experiences, LOON yacht charter also delivers, in form of E-foils and flyboards. Both of these boards are powered by silent electric engines, that are fast charging and environmentally friendly. With or without waves, these toys will provide a totally different feeling to moving across the open sea; many charter guests describe it as flight – climb on and find out.

There are many reasons why a family vacation on LOON yacht charter is a good idea, but none are more detrimental than the water slide, the inflatable in-water swimming pool and the inflatable swimming platform extension, all favourites among kids.

This is good news for the parents, because while the children are enjoying one of many ways in which they can go down the slide or jump into the totally safe in-water pool, the parents can observe their kids playing from the shaded upper deck, and with a refreshing cocktail at arm`s length.

Also, there is always at least one member of the crew keeping an eye out for the guests enjoying the water toys, which is especially true when it comes to kids. There are also opportunities to grow, observe and learn on the water, while also having fun. This means you could learn kitesurfing with experienced instructors, learn entirely new fishing techniques or get certified for diving, if you are not already an avid diver.

Since LOON yacht charter is a certified RYA-water toys and diving centre, the crew can show you all kinds of tricks and share useful tips before your first dive in the treasure-filled Croatian Adriatic sea. Also, be sure that every possible assistance will be provided before you ride your first wave and gust using the pro kite surfing gear.

Diving with entirely new scuba gear will make every experience below sea level truly a unique feat, mainly thanks to the incredible diversity of the Adriatic seafloor.

Take advantage of the local know-how of your expert crew and find out where are the best fishing spots in your vicinity. Feel a special kind of pride when you reel in your first true catch, which will be prepared by your attentive chef as a special course in your dining extravaganza. This also includes spearfishing, which combines the best of snorkelling and diving into a game of cat and mouse, between you and the fish.
