Superyachts are synonymous with luxury and elegance, combined with the possibility of unhindered movement and ultimate freedom. For this reason, yachts are equipped with numerous technological devices, amenities and gadgets that make life on a yacht easy and interesting.

There are numerous movable parts of hydraulics on yachts – some are for convenience, and others are to boost performance, all in the service of upgrading the guest`s experience.

These unique engineering solutions will make the life of a superyacht charter guest very metamorphic because certain parts of the yacht will “transform” to reveal hidden or secondary purposes. For instance, the shape of the living space will be able to change and adapt to the exact needs of the guests.

Do you need more space in the master suite? Let the crew open a hydraulic portside balcony and enjoy a totally private and intimate atmosphere. Do you want a more spacious swimming platform? No problem, let the crew lower the hydraulic lift into the sea and extend your reach directly into the turquoise waters of the Adriatic.

Movable and hydraulic parts also add to the yacht’s versatility, enabling your luxury charter to cater to specialised needs and desires, like having wheelchair access throughout the entire yacht, thanks to a yacht elevator. Or, quick access to water toys will enable guests to experience the complete beauty of Croatia’s most secluded and beautiful National Parks, like Kornati National Park.

The more moving parts a yacht has, the better the experience will be for the average guest because it will enable different choices and approaches to a yacht charter experience. Space will be re-purposed or changed in a blink of an eye.

These are just some of the many types of movable parts on your yacht charter:

Tender garage to port or starboard aft

Naval architects have recently solved the problem of a beach club sharing a space with the tender garage by installing hydraulic side hulls, that enables access to the tender garage from the port or starboard side. This provides more room for storing water toys, while the dedicated area of the beach club can be fully utilised for the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. The deck crew can also access the toys from the garage without disturbing the privacy of the guests in the beach club.

Beach Club

Almost all yachts have hydraulic beach club doors that open to reveal a fully appointed interior, complete with comfortable deck furniture, a bar and sometimes a fully appointed spa area. But more modern yachts enable even more modularity in their beach clubs, as well as the beach club doors, like the new Sunseeker 100 yacht, which has a modular hydraulic beach club door that opens up and rotates, becoming a main deck aft bench, a wide sunlounger or a seating arrangement overlooking the swimming platform.

Swimming platform

The swimming platform on most modern yachts can lower into the sea, transforming the beach club into a private beach with steps that lead directly into the amazing body of water that is the Croatian Adriatic sea. A staircase that leads directly into the sea – is there a more luxurious way to enjoy a refreshing swim? Enjoy the options that come with movable parts on a yacht charter and enhance your holiday experience.

Hydraulic balconies

Enjoy the modularity of the guest accommodations on modern yachts and experience a hydraulic balcony.  Some yachts in SuperYachts Croatia`s catalogue have master suites that come equipped with a side deck hydraulic balcony, that transforms the interior into a luxurious penthouse with a view. At first glance, it appears like a regular part of the superstructure, but a push of a button transforms the suite into an intimate space that offers a private connection to the sea. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning in a completely unique atmosphere and delight in the many possibilities your yacht charter offers.

Hydraulic sundeck roof

At a push of a button, the sundeck on some yachts can transform from a shaded area into a space fit for sunbathing and enjoying cocktails under the hot sun; the hardtop opens just like a roof on a convertible car. Your charter crew will always have the best interest of guests at hand, helping the guests achieve the perfect bronze tan or rest in a relaxing and shaded area.

Pop-up TVs

Yachts are famous for their „hidden“ television sets, which can be located in every cabinet or storage aboard your yacht. Using the remote, a quiet space can transform into an entertainment area in seconds, allowing guests to enjoy their favourite show or movie in a blink of an eye.

Hydraulic crane

The crane is not a primary part of the guest`s experience aboard superyachts, but hydraulic cranes have an integral part to play in launching and stowing certain water toys which are too heavy to lift, like the jet ski or the tender. It is also entertaining to watch a competent member of the charter party skillfully operate the crane.

Hydraulic stabilisation fins

Hydraulic stabilisation is an integral part of any cruising experience aboard superyachts, whether guests are aware of them or not. The fact is, there would be CONSIDERABLY more rolling if there were no stabilisation systems in place. Working both at anchor and underway, the hydraulic stabilisation fins use gyroscopic technology to stabilise the yacht during any rough seas or unpredictable weather.

Hydraulic sail raisers and hydraulic winches on sailing yachts

This unique category concerns sailing yachts only because there is no need for hydraulic winches on motor yachts. As any experienced sailor has endured, manually raising and lowering sails is a real burden. To ease the technical side of sailing, hydraulic winches are unavoidable on newer sailing yachts.

Yacht lift

Not hydraulic, but certainly movable – the yacht lift can only be found on large superyachts. This piece of engineering connected all the decks of a yacht, enabling smoother traffic and making the yacht in question accessible to wheelchairs.

These are not necessarily hydraulic, but they are modular and serve the purpose of expanding the existing yacht social space way beyond the limit of the beach club and the swimming platform. This way, charter guests have easier access to waterways in a private and secluded environment.
